How to Lose Weight

In the following words, we will look at the eight laws of health with a view toward restoring the body after weight gain. This simple outline will give a brief overview of how to apply each law to this situation.
TRUST IN GOD
The opinion which prevails in some classes of society, that religion is not conducive to health or to happiness in this life, is one of the most mischievous of errors. The Scripture says: "The fear of the Lord tendeth to life; and he that hath it shall abide satisfied." [PROV. 19:23.] "What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." [PS. 34:12-14.] The words of wisdom "are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." [PROV. 4:22.]
True religion brings man into harmony with the laws of God, physical, mental, and moral. It teaches self-control, serenity, temperance. Religion ennobles the mind, refines the taste, and sanctifies the judgment. It makes the soul a partaker of the purity of heaven. Faith in God's love and overruling providence lightens the burdens of anxiety and care. It fills the heart with joy and contentment in the highest or the lowliest lot. Religion tends directly to promote health, to lengthen life, and to heighten our enjoyment of all its blessings. It opens to the soul a never-failing fountain of happiness. Would that all who have not chosen Christ might realize that he has something vastly better to offer them than they are seeking for themselves. Man is doing the greatest injury and injustice to his own soul when he thinks and acts contrary to the will of God. No real joy can be found in the path forbidden by him who knows what is best, and who plans for the good of his creatures. The path of transgression leads to misery and destruction; but wisdom's "ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace." [PROV. 3:17.] Christian Education pg 68
WATER
Shower Power: Fit into your daily schedule three showers a day!
Hot and cold showers build the immune system, promote free circulation of blood and clear pores for elimination of wastes during the cleansing slimming process. Also the alternating Hot and Cold Water Pressure Massages and Tones the Body and loosens the muscles for exercise (especially if one has failed to maintain reasonable physical fitness.)
Drink half your body weight in Ounces of Pure Water!
Drink Distilled Water during the day according to a formula that depends on the amount of body mass or tissue to be cleansed on that day. For example: If Joe weighs 300 pounds his ideal amount of water consumption would be 150 ounces of water per day (add more water if increased exercise and perspiration results in water loss).

Substitute Fruit or Vegetable Juices for the habitual last meal
NUTRITION
Eat More fresh produce! A Large Fresh Salad at dinner time is essential for nutitional power. Eating your fresh salad first (before cooked foods) also boosts the living enzyme power of your meal. Avoid eating fruit and vegetables at the same meal. This practice tends to cause indigestion. Have a piece of fruit or fruit salad at one meal and a fresh vegetable salad or vegetable at the next meal.
REST
Proper rest is of vital importance for eliminating one of the greatest hinderances to appetite control. About the hour of 9 p.m. the brain secretes a hormone called melatonin. This brain chemical is used by the body to suppress/control the appetite. Unfortunately for most individuals
there is no benefit derived from this if one is not asleep at this time. As a result we naturally eat larger meals than necessary.
What about rest for the stomach? When leaving off late meals at night – one has not truly begun to rest until eating between meals is dealt with. Eating between meal gives the organ of the stomach no time to rest and restore its energies before the next meal. This not only promotes disease – yet also the tired feeling of the stomach many people wrongly interpret as hunger pain.
FRESH AIR, EXERCISE, SUNLIGHT
Outdoor exercise is an essential element to health. Activity in the open air and sunlight is worth 10 times more than indoor exercise. The healing influence of sunlight on the skin promotes the creation of vitamin D naturally in the body by converting cholesterol. It lowers the blood pressure, increases the circulation and the easy use of oxygen. As one takes deep breaths of fresh air, the whole body it vitalized by the influence of "Negative Ions". "Negative Ions" are the electrical charge that fresh air carries and that is conveyed to the system when outdoors (and deeply breathing in it’s healing power). Inside the home fresh air coming through curtains and passing through hallways lose it’s charge as it makes contact with wall and furniture surfaces of the home – thus not providing that spark of life that outdoor air gives.
When exercising in this environment, the body also receives the wonderful influence of increased circulation of blood, lymph fluids & oxygen. Wastes are eliminated more readily by perspiration and exhalation. The muscles, tendons and ligament are strengthened to perform greater work. The effect of the removal of these waste poisons and increased circulation is seen in brighter healthier skin and improved vitality and endurance.
